P-57: The Beneficial Adipokines in Reproductionand Infertility

author

Abstract:

Background: Adipokins are cytokines predominantely or exclusively expressed by adipose tissue that circulate and affect target tissues. Four known adipokines, adiponectin, visfatin/PBEF, omentin and vaspin, all increase tissue sensitivity to insulin, and are thus described as ’beneficial’. In this review such biological actions and potential roles of the adipokines leptin, adiponectin and resistin are explored in relation to female fertility and the complexity of the obese metabolic state. Materials and Methods: This is a review aticle. Results: Adipokins are cytokines predominantely or exclusively expressed by adipose tissue that circulate and affect target tissues. P-201: The Role of P53 Family Members in Infertility

Background: P53, p63, and p73 transcription factors which are belong to The p53 family, are conserved during evolution. They have important roles in many molecular and cellular functions, including tumor suppression, the development of epithelial cell layers, and the development of central nervous system and immune system. Studies show these molecules also have role in maintaining the genomic i...

P-57: Evaluation of HSPA2 in Fertile and Infertile Individuals

Background: Heat-shock protein A2 (HspA2) is a testisspecific member of the HSP70 family known to play a critical role in spermatogenic cell differentiation. HspA2 is correlated with sperm maturity, function and fertility, and diminished expression of HspA2 results in abnormal sperm maturity and infertility. The aim of this study was to compare expression of HspA2 in fertile and infertile indiv...

P-57: Simvastatin Abates Doxorubicin-Induced Teratozoospermia

Background: Therapeutic utilities of doxorubicin (DOX), an anticancer anthracycline antibiotic, are limited by its serious dosedependent toxicity to non-target tissues such as testis. The aim of the present study was to elucidate the potential of simvastatin (SIM), a lipid lowering agent with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities, to attenuate DOX-induced spermatotoxicity in male mice. M...
